Abstract:

Hip fracture is treated by surgeons. But most patients are elderly and have severalcomorbidities and polypharmacy, require multidisciplinary management. An orthogeriatrician comanagement has been shown to improve outcomes following hip fractures. NICE guidelines, National Hip Fracture database, osteoporosis management and management of common medical problems would be discussed which is very useful for an orthopaedic surgeon

Biography:

Gupta is a senior Consultant Physician orthogeriatrician working at a teaching hospital in the UK. He has extensive experience working, initially in India and now settled in the UK. He has published widely, has won awards, written a book is a trainer for undergraduates and medical students and has presented to several national and international geriatric and orthopeadic societies conferences
